Pre-race routine:

Breakfast of one piece of wheat toast and peanut butter and water. Also did some stretches and ankle excercises.

Walked a bit to keep warm and calm nerves

Comments:

Started into a cold headwind. Kept a steady even pace after the first 1/2 mile. Picked up the pace the last 1/2 mile. Felt very good throughout most of the race. Very little fatigue.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - this was first race ever and was a very good learning experience and confidence booster.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a bit and then went and got food being provided.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Experience and not knowing how hard I could push and still finish.

Event comments:

I am very happy with my first race. I accomplished the goals I had set for myself.
