Comments:

Eric Glow swam for my team. There were some very fast swimmers (4 collegiant swimmers) on the 3 teams we were wanting to beat.
James's swimmer (Lauren) and Eric were in the same lane. I watched the first 2 laps and Eric was just ahead of her.
Kamp came out of the water first (no surprise) follwed by Eric and Lauren who came out together.
Swim Time: 4:57 :)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Eric was awesome!!!

Comments:

Ran across the mat out of T1 with James. Here we go. Got on my bike and clipped in before James and headed out of town. A couple of turns to get to the road out of town and I heard a volunteer say "kneck and kneck" so I know James was still right there.

I knew I needed to put at least 1:30, if not 2:00 on James in order for his, fast, high school, runner not to catch mine.

Got on the road out of town and passed Simon, the rider for Kamp's team, who was first out of the water. So now I was in front with nobody to chase.

My Garmin is broken, so I rode blind, just tried to ride hard. I tried to look behind me a few times, but my glasses where a little fogged up so I couldn't see much, let alone where James was. I just put my head down and pushed.

Made it to the turnaround and almost to the hill before passing James and Simon. I figured the gap to be just over a minute or so and that I'd have to try to stretch that a little.

Fought off a few calf cramps on the way back in. The incline over the overpass felt like a mountain, my bike just didn't want to get up the hill. Passed people who were headed out and heard a few calls of my name and T3.

Made the turn back into town and across the bumpy section and was first into T2.
Transition 2

Comments:

Stuck my leg out for Gary to get chip and watched him run away. Took a look behind me and saw a rider coming. Thought to myself, "If that is James, then I didn't get a big enough cushion." It was not James, but another rider, who, if he had another mile or so, would have caught me.

Turns out I made 3:15 on James and 3:45 on the other all male team. With Gary running, I figured we had this easy.
