Pre-race routine:

Woke up after 5.5 hours of sleep but did not get up til 5am. Had banana and some water. Stretched and headed to race. Hammer gel 15 min prior to race with prayer.

Comments:

Faster than I had expected to run on such a hilly course for first marathon. Very nice course overall. Contended with killer headache most of morning then stuck with nausea in 2nd half of race. Don't know if ths was due to exertion level or fuel issues. Will have to experiment some more in longer endurance events to see. Could not have run any faster and finished with this pace.

What would you do differently?:

Less gel per shot, but more frequently

Event comments:

Live in town so I will not say I won't do this race again, but the double loop on the second half of the marathon is not fun to me. Would rather so another out and back or a longer out and back overall. Half marathon is great course though and will do it definitely.
