Comments:

I'm a bit puzzled with my run lately. I seem to be losing more conditioning that I'd like to be. Need to step up my run training again and get back on a focused workout. I'm dropping too much pace lately

Mad at myself because I forgot to plug my Garmin in when I got home from SFO last night, so I had to run 'naked' as I got to the start line and the battery died.

Went out a little bit too fast perhaps, but wanted to take advantage of the downhill, and get a lead on my time. I had kinda hoped to break 8:30, and if I'd have pushed on the hills a bit more, instead of walking, I probably could have.

Interesting, when I felt like I was running slow, I was still averaging under 9 minutes, at least so far as I can tell, based on gun time call-outs during the run.
What would you do differently?:

Probably the biggest thing I would have done differently would have been to make sure the Garmin was charged. DROVE ME NUTS not having even a stopwatch on in a race.

Pushed harder through the hills... I let those get into my head and I walked on them... Had I kept running, even if at a 10 minute pace, I'm pretty certain I would have broken 8:30. So live and learn
Post race
Warm down:

Walked it off... Had some Ice Cream and a water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of consistent training over the past several weeks. Haven't had a hard goal in sight, so not pushing as hard in training I think. Got to get past that.

I'm also experiencing a little Plantar Faceitis I think. Heels have been very sore lately. Maybe that is part of the reason I haven't been running as fast lately

Event comments:

This course is definately an improvement on the Cowtown half Marathon course. I like this course much better.. It's a good race, and well organized.

I'll run it again.
