Swim
Comments: Learned my lessons from TriZou and found my pace early. However, due to the way they do the pool start I was bottlenecked right away in a half lane. I made due and had to swim through a few people. Would have had a better swim time if starts were based on your actual times and not when you registered. What would you do differently?: Worked on sigting and it appears to have come in handy. Due to the nature of the swim start, there is nothing more I could do Transition 1
Comments: This is my time as they did not record this due to timing method. This could be longer than it really was as I did forget to switch over to bike until I was on the bike course. What would you do differently?: Have already decided to get a simple Timex watch to record the overal times. Bike
Comments: Nice and flat...Still there were a few hills that I need to do alot more work on. Good average speed and good cadence throughout. Had GU about 20 min. into bike and took water only. Also thought the turn to transition was a little sooner than expected and almost went off course. Good thing the Cop stationed there didnt say anything and I figured it out myself. What would you do differently?: Just need to work on hills and make it a point to charge up them...I have the gearing down. Transition 2
Comments: I am estimating and do not think it really was this long. It really felt fast as this time I just put the shoes on and grabbed my stuff and ran !!! What would you do differently?: Be able to record my actual transitions as I am curious on how I am doing (better or worse) Run
Comments: Strangly enough this was my best part....I hate running and this is the best time I have run on this trail for that distance. Nothing like the fear of being passed making you run your best !! What would you do differently?: Not a thing....Maybe hope for dryer conditions next time. Post race
Warm down: Crossed the line, felt like puking, the feeling went away and then got a bottle of water and walked around. Grabbed a quick snack and recovery drink and originally thought the time they flased crossing the finishe seemed too long. What limited your ability to perform faster: No real limits..... Event comments: I had a good race and with the longer bike and run I do think I did well. However, this race was not very organized. Transition was never closed so there were people just milling around the entire time. Swim start had no organization to it at all (let alone the way they hand the start times themsleves)....However, once you were out on the course everything was fine. Now, I know we had crap weather in the morning but a simple announcement to everyone if you are going to start late would be nice...And make an announcement on when you are going to start that all can hear. With more organization, this could be a very good race not just OK. Last updated: 2011-02-23 12:00 AM

Woke up way too early...0330a Ate the normal 2 packs of oatmeal, energy bar, apple and drank an FRS Wild Berry. The weather was crazy until about 0500a when I left home for the race....Got to transition and it was just a light sprinkle in the dark.
300m quick pace swim and milled around in transition and the pool deck. Had a GU about 20 min. before I thought I would start. Event started later due to weather so I am told but was not announced. We were all about 10 min. late getting started...
