Run
Comments: Felt good, glad swim was cancelled since swim is weakest for me. What would you do differently?: Bring a bottle along. Usually have a Fuel Belt but thought I can do without on the run. Could have if I had been in the first wave, but I was in the last wave. So, almost a full hour since I had a drink. Transition 1
Comments: Easy since I had socks on from the run. Still didnt try having shoes on the bike and then putting them on while in motion. What would you do differently?: Will try the shoes on bike sometime. Bike
Comments: Almost couldnt make 1 corner cuz I was going way to fast. Gears are terrible. Couldnt switch front cog which sucked on the hills. Rear cassette I didnt have the 3rd and 4th largest gears (not as a big deal as the front gear). Started cramping at the end of the 2nd lap. 1 big pothole going downhill on the left side, thought it was kind of dangerous. What would you do differently?: Take on more salt. Transition 2
Comments: Cramping in both calves. Other than that, not to bad. Someone was awesome enough to give me their last salt tablet! Thank you! What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Run
Comments: Slower in the beginning because of cramps. Slower in general, legs didnt want to move. What would you do differently?: Bring my own salt tablet. Post race
Warm down: Walk around, drink a bottle of Gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramping due to poor nutrition preparation. Event comments: Good race. Too bad no swim, but after seeing the water in daylight, I'm glad it was cancelled. It looked terrible. Last updated: 2006-03-21 12:00 AM

Went to bed at 10:45pm. Woke up at 4:00am. Biked over at 4:30am. Setup in transition by 5:00am.
Bike ride was warmup, but too early. Didnt do anything else before starting. Waited to hear about cancelling swim and then the final race details. Did some light stretching before start.
