Swim
Comments: I was pleased with the swim because I'd been worried about it beforehand. It was slow going because of a lot of bodies in a very tight space. I kind of zigzagged all over the place, but since it was a serpentine swim with lane dividers, it was ok. I just ran into some women, whoops. What would you do differently?: Start farther forward in the pack. Swim straighter. Transition 1
Comments: I didn't rush the transitions. What would you do differently?: If I were really going for time, I could have moved faster and run with the bike the whole way instead of the off/on that I did. Bike
Comments: Good bike. I think it was a good balance between pushing and trying to save some energy for the run. Basically felt like a good training ride. What would you do differently?: My water bottle, which was not made to be a bike bottle, got stuck and I couldn't get to it. So use the right water bottle. Do lots more hill training and interval training. Transition 2
Comments: No rush. The long time must be because I walked through transition to the run. Run
Comments: I was tired and did a fair amount of walking through the first half/two thirds of the course. Because of the long transition time, I didn't really have "jelly legs" getting off the bike. What would you do differently?: Train more. Much more. I need to run every day, even if only a little. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate, drank. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mostly the run. I don't stretch enough and have ongoing hip/glute problems as a result. I will start doing more stretching and getting some run time in every day. I hope. :) Event comments: Really a great race. I have a ton of respect for the SheROX people for creating such a great venue. I will definitely do this race again. In the meantime, I have some training to do! I will especially work on run fitness. Last updated: 2011-02-23 12:00 AM

Up at 4:30, ugh. Had a protein shake and cereal. Everything was already packed, so I put on the tri suit and some sweats and headed out.
A little stretching and some squat-jumps to get my blood flowing.
