Run
Comments: The run went very well. I had no real expectations going in. I was going to be staisfied with anything sub 3:30, and just wanted to go nice and steady. It was so cold and windy at the start, I tucked in behind the biggest group of people i could find. I jumped behind the 1:40 pace half marathon group. I decided to just cruise along with them for the first half and hang on for the second half. I hit the half point in 1:39:40 or so, and my second half was only 75 secs or so slower. I felt really good the whole time. I did slow a bit over the last 2-3 miles, but nothing too bad. The last mile came off the trail and around a school and through a parking lot, where the wind hit bad again. I really wanted to stop, but was able to trudge on through to the end. I could have pushed harder, but I never walked more than 20 yds or so, and only at water stops. What would you do differently?: nothing, this was not a BQ atttempt kind of race Post race
Warm down: short massage, got a bite to eat, and started the 1/2 mile cold ass haul back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing Event comments: This was a very well done race. The Wizard of Oz theme was very cute. Cheap cotton/poly shirt, but good design. I would have gladly paid for an extra tech shirt, but they had no apparel for sale. Expo was adequate. Everything was organized, on time, tons of water stops with helpful, eager volunteers, with water, gatorade, lots of Gu. Post race spread was very quiet, but I think the half marathoners left quickly due to the cold and wind. Last updated: 2011-02-26 12:00 AM

got up, ate my waffle, PB, banana, honey sandwich, drove the 5 miles to the race site. Nothing exciting
Walked around for 10 minutes, trying to keep warm and out of the wind.
