Swim
Comments: This was a good swim for me based on my training lately, although it does make me wonder if I will ever be as fast as I used to be 10 years ago. There was another person in the lane with me and I had to go around her about 5 times but that was no big deal. It was actually pretty fun since this was the first race I did in a pool since high school 1999! What would you do differently?: Just train more for the swim! Transition 1
Comments: They gave us 10min to get changed into our bike and run gear and then to head to the spin bikes. What would you do differently?: Couldn't mess this up in 10min! Bike
Comments: It was a spin bike with a cycling computer on it so it would have made no sense to add resistance to the bike. Mostly everyone just spun their butts off at a super high cadence. The miles I reported are, of course, not accurate to real cycling. What would you do differently?: Go a little faster I guess, since I didn't feel tired at all getting off the bike. Transition 2
Comments: This was just a walk upstairs to the treadmills. I didnt have anything to change so it was a few minutes rest for me. Run
Comments: This is what I'm really happy about. Hopefully those treadmills were calibrated and accurate. 2.97mi in 20min is good for me even without swimming or cycling. I did have a pace of 6:33 going for a while but just before mile 2 I slowed it down a bit and then again at 2.5mi which I was at a 6:55 pace. I was trying to get to 3mi and maybe if this was an outdoor run I could have but I don't have a lot of heart on the treadmill especially since you can't see who is in front of you to catch them! What would you do differently?: Dig deep in the gut and hold the pace! Post race
Warm down: Walked around the gym to find my friend and then a nice long stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm training for a HIM so this race is really short and fast compared to what I'm getting ready for. Plus this was really just for fun and to see a little bit of where I stand. Event comments: Not much to say, it was a well run indoor tri. Last updated: 2011-02-28 12:00 AM
