Comments:

Went out in the 5th and final wave. They started everyone 5 seconds apart to avoid a mass running start. I placed myself in the back of the group to let faster swimmers go in front of me. I swam very well and passed lots of people. I should have started closer to the front. but it did not affect my time at all. coarse was a triangle and was well marked.
What would you do differently?:

start more in the front of the Clyde pack to avoid passing slower swimmers.

was pertty winded from the swim and took longer in T1 than i wanted to. Had to place everything back into my bag so the event staff could take it back to the finish. that took some extra time.
What would you do differently?:

practice more at putting on socks and shoes with wet feet.

It took me a couple minutes to get into the rythem. was a little tired from the swim. But then was able to get into a +20MPH zone and pass lots of people.

Dont take a big drink of water right before the run. Did not sit well

Not a great running performance due to the huge hills. legs felt good just did not have enough gas in the tank to push any harder.
What would you do differently?:

not drink so much water coming off the bike in T2

Course: Nice bike coarse. pretty flat with a few turns. Everything was paved with a few sets of rumble strips.

Course: started off on a nature trail with hills. first couple hills were really tough when my legs were like jello. then we moved onto pavement and huge downhill. this was great to help leg recovery. Bad thing was we had to run back up the hill. the hill was nasty steep. worse than Brady St hill on the bix. Water station was at the top of the hill. Then the rest of the coarse was small hills on both paved and nature trails.
