Pre-race routine:

This race is a training run for a team of runners that I coach. About 1/2 the team is blind or visually impaired. Pre race was spent pumping up the team.

No warm up. It was pouring rain.

Comments:

I really enjoyed the run. I was way off of my normal 8:35 pace, but i was guiding a blind runner In his first road race. I was honored to help him through and he was really proud of himself.

Warm down:

Got inside and changed into dry clothes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Leading someone slower than me.

Event comments:

I love being able to help people new to exercise learn a new lifestyle.

Performance: Good
Course: The course was pretty good- all through city streets in downtown Indy. Some of the roads were pretty torn up with potholes. This is a bit of a challenge when you are guiding a blind runner. It was also really wet- rained the whole way.
