Swim
Comments: Felt strong for the first 100, but I felt some drag from the pockets on my tri top. Wasn't too tired from the pace. What would you do differently?: Kick more, swim faster. Less breaths. Transition 1
Comments: Straight forward. Decided to go sans socks. Threw them, my swim cap, and goggles in the bag. When I got to the mount line, had trouble clipping in initially. What would you do differently?: Get tri shoes, do a flying mount. Bike
Comments: But was able to get speed on the down hills, and kept a good pace on the flats. Not sure if using a tri bike would have netted any advantage. What would you do differently?: Train more hills. Maybe get out of the seat. Transition 2
Comments: Had trouble racking my bike because bag was in the way. Lost some time. Had trouble taking off cycling shoes cause there were wet. What would you do differently?: Make sure there's more space for my bike. Position my bag differently. Get Tri shoes. Run
Comments: Almost got chicked, but was able to hold out. Felt good during the run, kept a consistent pace, good breathing. Not sure if getting water at the aid station was a good idea. I felt like I was sufficiently hydrated after the bike. Could feel the water sloshing around initially. Decent sprint at the end. Equaled my time last week on a flat course, and felt better after. No cramping. What would you do differently?: More intervals for a faster split. No water at the aid station. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, couple bites of a nasty bagel. Water, electrolyte mix. Some stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hills, and slow swimming. Event comments: Maybe again next year. Last updated: 2011-03-06 12:00 AM
