Swim
Comments: Well, what can I say. Another disaster of a swim. Feel like I've put a lot of work in the pool that is not translating to race day. Need to look into doing something different to change this up but not sure what. I thought maybe in last race I didn't push myself hard enough and that resulted in my poor result last time. Tried to push a little harder this time, with similar poor result. What would you do differently?: Possibly look at either wetsuit fit or getting sleeveless. Transition 1
Comments: Right as I got to my bike it started pouring rain. Apparently had been raining during the swim too. Hands were cold and couldn't get my wetsuit off. Considering how much I thought I was struggling, time is remarkably similar to other T1s. What would you do differently?: Need to figure out how to get out of suit better. Bike
Comments: With the wet, rain, and cold, it was hard to push. Took the corners really easy. Realized on one decent before the hard right hander that I had forgotten to close the lever on front brake. Oops. So went really slowly that entire decent before the turn. Started picking it up after that point though. There were a couple cars on course that I got stuck behind. That probably caused my a few seconds, but can't blame performance on that. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Did ok considering mental attitude and wet course. Transition 2
Comments: Had set up T area poorly, and hard hard time reaching running shoes. Hands were cold making hard to change. What would you do differently?: Set up area better. Run
Comments: Felt pretty good on this run. Didn't take Garmin for the run, just wanted to run based on feel. As usual, after first mile or so, legs came around and felt pretty good. Faster run split than last year. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Walked around some and had some water and Muscle Milk. I do like the MM after a race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Rain and attitude. Event comments: Good race. Started on time. Did appear that there were fewer volunteers than last year. Parking was ok, and there did seem to be enough racks this year. Last updated: 2011-03-08 12:00 AM

Tried to get my head into this one. Prepping for Boise 70.3 has gotten much of my focus, so needed to get into racing today. Threat of rain didn't help my focus. Up on time, ate, and out the door to get a good parking spot.
Stretched and walked around after getting transition set up.
