Pre-race routine:

stayed at casino like last year...ate at the buffet, but didn't pig out as I wanted to run hard this year! Thank goodness this is a late starting race! :)
Event warmup:

did some stides and went for a short jog with Diane W from my team

  • 23m 59s
  • 3.11 miles

Comments:

the crowd helped me from going out too fast! :) Had to pick my way through folks the first mile, followed Andrea C from the team for the second mile and just went for it in mile three. Really happy with my performance on tired legs from a heavy week, and that I didn't quit pushing! :) Yay me!
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Maybe start closer to the front for less weaving through folks, maybe.
Post race
Warm down:

trotted a bit, but not much else

What limited your ability to perform faster:

heavy volume week beforehand...casino night...hee hee.

Event comments:

This gets a 5 because of how fun it is...green every where, silly costumes, and beer at the finish if you want! Plus there are lots of parade goers and beer drinkers making it fun while you run. :) Love racing as always with my friends! :)
