Pre-race routine:

Cliff bar and a bottle of gatorade.
Event warmup:

Went for a warmup on the bike and ended up with two flat tires from some rough road. After jogging a mile back tp the transition area, the guys from South Shore Cycling had them replaced. Not a good way to start.

Comments:

The run felt good at the start, though I may have started too fast with the hill ahead. The last segment of the hill was tough, but was able to pickup the stride again after recovering.

Need to do more hill work before this race

A hard cramp in the right calf slow down the changing of shoes, but luckily the cramp did not last.

Warm down:

Walked around and talked with some of the other participants.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of sleep the previous week and flying in from Greece on Friday.

Event comments:

The events run by Great Lakes Multisport are some of the best events that I have participate. They are small events so there is no dealing with the crowds, but organized better than some of the bigger events.
