![]() Swim
Comments: about 1/3 of the people in my wave walked - which was allowed at this race. I swam the entirety to practice for open water. That probably hurt my rankings as the walkers were definitely faster with less effort. What would you do differently?: Be more calm and fluid. Work on breathing. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Decided to forgo pants, but added second shirt that was in backpack. Added HR chest strap and Garmin. What would you do differently?: Was cold on ride, but probably could have done without 2nd shirt. Will wear chest strap in the swim next time. ![]() Bike
Comments: Caught 7 people in my wave, so felt good about that. Maybe could have pushed a liitle more - didn't know how much to save for run. What would you do differently?: Push just a bit harder especially the second have as I tired. Remember water bottle on Bike! ![]() Transition 2
Comments: I don't have clipless peddles, so was in running shoes already. My T2 time was super - 4th out of 103. What would you do differently?: Nothing. ![]() Run
Comments: Good run time for me. The training for the half-marathon really showed up here. What would you do differently?: drink on bike so don't need it on run. Remember to start Garmin so know pace and distance to go. Start final kick a bit sooner. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Stretch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Experience and knowing how hard to push each event. Need to up my speedwork training. LSD training is solid for thsi distance. Event comments: Excellent beginners race. Last updated: 2011-03-15 12:00 AM

Just trying to figure everything out. Had to make several trips to the car and whatnot for things that I forgot. Wasn't preparred with something to wear over shorts while waiting to start etc. Pre-race nutrician plan was good.
not enough - swam half a lap... should have ridden bike for a short distance.
