Run
Comments: stinking hills What would you do differently?: Nothing much. It was a solid run for me. Transition 1
Comments: I got my bike shoe caught in the rope in my transition bag. That cost me a few secs. What would you do differently?: Not have the ropes where I can get them caught in my shoes Bike
Comments: I pushed as hard as I could. I simply don't train hard enough on the bike. Too many mental lapses. It's getting better though. I just need to keep at it. I feel like I handled the hills well though. What would you do differently?: Train more and harder. Transition 2
Comments: I messed up the racking of my bike. Whatever. Also got my neckless caught in my bike helment as I was taking it of. #$%#%@$@ What would you do differently?: Not wear my necklass Run
Comments: Well, not sure what to say about this. I just couldn't get my legs to go faster. They didn't feel tired, no cramping nothing. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Run fitness maybe? Or rather run fitness at high intensity Post race
Warm down: I live in Tucson. It warm-down is not possible. Stood around talking to Tri Girls, then went and got something to eat while I waited for them to open up transition so we could get our bikes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Apperently my run fitness. Event comments: I thought the $100 price tag for what is basically a sprint distance with no extra costs for a swim a bit steep, but I must say, I almost feel it was worth it. The haul away from this race was nice. A nice tech tee, a nice tech hat (although black is not useful in the summer), a nice metal water bottle, a free burger from In and Out, a race belt, etc. Plus good post food, wet towels when you finish, gatorage in a nice water bottle that we got to keep, nice metal, and the bonus, your results printed off for you right there on site a few minutes after you finish. SWEET! Anyways, only the top 18 qualify and that's not me, but I wasn't expecting to and wouldn't have gone anyways (the Canadian in me wouldn't have no matter what). But I'd do one of the national championships again in a heart beat if it was near by Last updated: 2011-03-16 12:00 AM

Not much of a pre-race routine. Woke up, ate, feed the dogs, then left for the long drive to the race site. They cancelled the mandatory bike check in the day before due to high winds so took care of that when I got there. Then surfed the iPhone until I got bored then went and found some Tri Girls to hang with until race start.
Um, hung in the Tucson sun until race time. No warm up.
