Run
Comments: Quite a bit of maneuvering at the start to get around people. Felt pretty good about pacing. What would you do differently?: Should have started a bit faster and closer to the "fast" runners. Really wanted to break 20 minutes on the run. Transition 1
Comments: Had to put on shoes and set up shoes for next transition. Glasses broke. Grab warmer gloves. Decided not to do arm warmers. recover with towel. What would you do differently?: Towel stuck to shoe Velcro which was inconvenient. It would take longer but maybe wear shoe covers. Feet became really cold Bike
Comments: Forgot bike bottle which ended up not being too big of a deal. Took 1 gel on bike What would you do differently?: Remember water - ride bike outside before first race. Spent all winter on the trainer which is good but different Transition 2
Comments: Decent transition What would you do differently?: I need to take off shoes so they are easier to put back on. Run
Comments: Good run - Feet were completely numb. What would you do differently?: Not sure, maybe gone faster? Post race
Warm down: Walk, put on warm/dry cloths, drink, talk to competitors. What limited your ability to perform faster: Needed more time on bike early season. Event comments: Nice race and a very strong field of competitors. Wish they would better identify teams versus individuals. It is an easy course in that it is flat and straight. It was hard because of cold, wet and some wind. The road was a bit rough but I plan on doing this each year. Last updated: 2011-03-16 12:00 AM

Normal breakfast. Extra hydration. A bit chaotic in the morning since one of my girls was sick and had to make arrangements for the other to go with family as my wife took the sick one to the doctor. Nothing too serious but wanted to make sure.
Arrived a few minutes early to register and get settled.
Tried to stay warm and hydrated. Ran about 1 mile in sweats and jacket before getting down to shorts and long sleeve top for the race. Walked the transition several times to get my bearings.
