Comments:

This is a great race and is run in the park I often do my training runs in. I was excited to run a course that I was so familiar with. I wanted to try and run a consistent pace at about 8min/mile. I tagged on to a woman who was running about an 8 min pace and stayed with her for awhile. When she started to slow at about 2 miles I caught up to another set of girls and ran with them until about mile 4. When they began to slow, I was able to keep up the pace for awhile until about 4.5 miles when I felt like I was hit with a lack of training! I continued on at an 830 pace until the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Train more
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched, water and bananas.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Recovering from tendonitis I have been limited in my runs to short endurance runs. I need to train more for speed now that the knee is healed.

Event comments:

Good race, supporting a good cause.
