Short jog, more EFS drink.
Swim
  • 29m 21s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Lined up on the wrong side but sprinted out pretty well. Most of wave went out too fast and caught most in finishing stretch. Couldn't find any draft buddy. People on my feet the whole way. First ocean swim and it was tough going. Really liked my new full suit wetsuit.
What would you do differently?:

More open water practice. I wasn't too tired by the end.
Transition 1
  • 02m 33s
Comments:

My T1 is usually awesome. Decided to use the wetsuit removal crew and got two kids that couldn't get the suit off my ankles. Super frustrating. My buddy caught me in T1 and we took off on the bike around the same time.
What would you do differently?:

Remove wetsuit myself?
Bike
  • 2h 25m 15s
  • 56 miles
  • 23.13 mile/hr
Comments:

Hammered on the way out and took most of my EFS liquid shot. Knew the return would be easier. Back started to cramp at mile 40 but got through it way faster than expected.
What would you do differently?:

Need to get a shot holder on my frame. Ended up holding it in my left hand for most of the ride. Not very aero.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Rocked it.
What would you do differently?:

Smile more.
Run
  • 1h 34m 22s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 07m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

First two laps felt ok. Started to get bloated on third but was able to "jet propel" to a better feeling. Very hot on occasion. Crowded on last two laps. Hard to get the water I wanted. Never walked aid stations and stayed on pace for the most part.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Too much fluids?

Event comments:

I didn't have any, but heard post-race nutrition was pretty pathetic.
