Swim
Comments: Masses line up by approximate swim time and start in groups of 4 every 5 seconds or so. I lined up in the 7 minute group. It became evident quickly that not many people were in the correct group. it was like swimming through a log jam. There were people side stroking and back stroking on the initial 100m stretch. Once I got clear I was able to move a little. What would you do differently?: Start in a faster group Transition 1
Comments: I felt like I was moving, but it must have been slow motion. What would you do differently?: Forget trying to dry off and just get going. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike. It is my best event. There were tons of people on the course. Course is 2 laps of same streets so it seemed even more crowded. I was passing people like they were standing still which made me feel good. What would you do differently?: Hydrate a little better but otherwise nothing Transition 2
Comments: Again felt like I was moving, but not so fast. Made mistake and forgot my number belt and was almost out of transition when I remembered and ghad to run back for it. probably doubled my time. What would you do differently?: remember my number Run
Comments: Felt pretty good overall. Running is my worst event. Gained speed once I got flowing. Good finish What would you do differently?: Train! Post race
Warm down: Walked. Drank a gatorade. had an orange and a cookie. What limited your ability to perform faster: Experience, training. Event comments: A good first outing. All the experience gained was invaluable. I was ready to go again about an hour later because I was stoked to do better. The tri-bug has got me. Last updated: 2011-03-23 12:00 AM

Got up and had a PBJ bagel. Had some coffee about an hour before leaving.
Fighting the butterfly swarm was my warm-up. This was my first event.
