Run
Comments: I don't know what it happens to me, but occasionally when I try to run in the morning my heart rate is through the roof. It just races and won't come down unless I stop activity. Unfortunately, today was one of those days. By about mile 2 I knew I was going to have a terrible race, and it just got worse from there. I seriously considered DNF'ing, but I knew the way home would be just as hard and the course, so just plodded along. I was really disappointed with this race. What would you do differently?: I don't know, other than start a bit slower. Post race
Warm down: Walked back home, took off some wet stuff, then waited for B to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: High heart rate and humidity. Event comments: The race itself was great. Plenty of volunteers, a great atmosphere, and a fun time. The race starts and ends in my neighborhood, so I'll admit I'm partial. A funny story: the golden-doodle Dozer who has received so much media attention ran by me after I had finished. I tried to catch him because he obviously was lost and didn't belong on the course. I'm glad I wasn't able, since he has raised tens of thousands for cancer research! Last updated: 2011-03-27 12:00 AM

Picked up the packets the day before, then went to a wine and beer tasting at I.M. Wine (probably not the best idea, but heh). I didn't have very much.
The race started less than a quarter mile from my front door, so not too much was involved in warm up. We were able to have breakfast, potty, etc. all at home, which was great.
