Run
Comments: Didn't know until the day before if I could switch to the 1/2 from the full marathon. Hadn't run much over the last month. My view of this was a training run. Not a race. But I still average @ M pace for the whole thing. Did the first 10 faster than E pace, but was in the low mid 8's. Then for the last 3.1 miles, I wanted to push the pace and see what I had left in the tank, but still held back. I was not winded any time during this race, but my legs were not used to running this far right now. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Got a PR on limited training and did not hurt myself. Post race
Warm down: Water, Muscle Milk, pretzel, walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: Limited training. Event comments: Great early season race. Actual time = 1:46:23. Nice PR and I have not been able to train for this. I was really hoping for a PR Yesterday, I was able to drop down to the Half from the full Marathon. During the race, no calf pain whatsoever. My plan was to do an E pace training run, but I went a little faster than that. I didn't race this, since I have not done any speed work, nor have I had any quality runs for about a month. I hadn't run for 2 weeks leading up to this previous Wednesday. Last updated: 2011-03-27 12:00 AM
