Swim
Comments: There were 124 people that started the 2000m swim. Only 117 of those 124 went on to finish the run. What would you do differently?: Do some swim warm up and get the engine going sooner. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time, no big rush. Wetsuit always stuck on my feet. Put on my race belt, hydration belt (mostly to get used to it) and visor/sunglasses and took off. What would you do differently?: Dry off my feet better. My socks were a bit wet at the end and it was from not getting my feet completely dry prior to putting on my shoes and socks. Run
Comments: 76/117 on the run (several people didn't run after the swim, so fewer people in the finish/run categories. Tried to make up some time and gain a few slots back on the run. Did a pretty good job at it, but probably pounded my legs a bit hard. What would you do differently?: Slow it down a bit. After all, this was just a warm up for the 70.3 the next weekend. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim ability and confidence. At one point I had thought about just skipping the 2nd loop, but I got over that and loop #2 felt pretty good. Event comments: This was a big confidence booster for the Marquee race next weekend. My OWS at Canyon Lake the previous week sucked, so this was good for me. Last updated: 2011-03-28 12:00 AM

Got up about 5:45 and quickly got ready. Had to stop by work just to pick up my spare goggles (didn't want to have only 1 pair with me) and then headed up. Ate some oatmeal and had a little fluid.
Nothing. I should change this when starting in the water.
