Swim
Comments: Crappy swim. I couldn't get comfortable. I am a poor swimmer and this was pathetic even by my standards. What would you do differently?: Swim better. Transition 1
Comments: My sunglasses fell off while I was running so I probably lost 5 or so seconds there. My suit was really stuck. What would you do differently?: Keep working on transitions. Same as always. Bike
Comments: I should have pushed harder. I was having a mental battle with myself whether I should push harder or take it easy to save for the run. These are things I usually have this all mapped in my mind but because of the last couple weeks and spending time with family last night I wasn't in the right mindset. What would you do differently?: Push harder. I could maintain 25-26 this ride. 6th place isn't where I should be in my AG. Transition 2
Comments: I wanted to wear socks so this was a pretty slow transition. I sat down to get them on. Today my feet are in good condition today so this was a good idea I think. What would you do differently?: Hurry up!! Run
Comments: I should have been dumping water on my head at every aid station but I started at the 1/2 way point. I think it helped. Again I was fighting with myself. I ended up slowing too much because I didn't want to be ruined for a week. Why, I don't know. My goals and my mind aren't in line with each other sometimes. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my mental toughness. Post race
Warm down: I packed up and got some post-race food. Pizza was good and so was the milk!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Mentally I just wasn't there. Event comments: Nice venue and good organization. I am pretty sure I will be back. Last updated: 2011-03-28 12:00 AM

We spent the night at Jennies relatives in Oshkosh. Thanks to Mike and Laurie for that. We stayed up a bit late talking and having fun. Alarm went off waaay too early at 4AM. I had my typical breakfast of toast/jam and a Monster Java. 5AM hit and we were off.
I got my bag and numbers and set up transition. We walked down to the lakeshore and I swam out to the second bouy. I wasn't feeling it at all. The last 2 weeks have been rough because we took Caleb's nuk away so there have been many a sleepless night. I was hoping that it was just the taper that I did, which ended up being more like 2 weeks instead of 1.
