Pre-race routine:

Woke up around 5:30 eat a bowl of cereal and was off to the race.
Event warmup:

parked about half mile from the race so I did a short slow run to loosen up my muscles. Did my stretch routine and droped off my dry bag.

Comments:

Started off at a little faster than I wanted to and my calf started to get tight. I slowed to a more confortable pace and settled into my own pace
What would you do differently?:

Pay closer attention to my pace when I start the race. Do more stretches especially for the calves and hamstrings.

Event comments:

The proceeds go to a great cause and there was a lot of effort put into the appearance of the race. Surprisingly small turn out considering the area, but there are two other big races going on in the area. The after party was a little week. No mucic and limited food and beer. Normally I spend a couple of hours hanging out after a race, but I left as soon as the awards ceremony was ovr. I will probably run the raec again next year, but hope the after race events are better.

Course: Road course, had to watch out for a few pot holes, mostly flat but had a few rolling hills.
