Swim
Comments: My goal was not to spend too much energy on the swim, that was hard due to the wind chop, very windy today and we had to swim out pass the surf break, I choose to do breast stroke more because I couldn't see the next buoy due to the swells and I think that helped me navigate better and I passed a few folks doing that. What would you do differently?: nothing it was a good swim. Transition 1
Comments: can't complain about the time, wasn't really trying to rush... Bike
Comments: one of my fellow cyclist, not sure if I can call her a friend came up to pass me I didn't hear her coming, when she got right next to me she says hello, kind of too close, scared the living bejesus out of me swerved a bit almost crashed, not very happy with her,(she crashed her bike last fall and broke her hip/femur, she is too dangerous on the road...) then I passed two guys where one was drafting of the other, (there are no rules in this race) the guy in the lead then drafted off of me for about 5 minutes, not very happy about that, he finally passed me cause I yelled at him to get off my tire... newby... overall I had a great bike and it was fun regardless. What would you do differently?: train more, haven't had a lot of time in the saddle Transition 2
Comments: can't complain with this time either... Run
Comments: well, felt good for a little while after the first mile then on the turn around I saw my competition and knew she was coming to pass me, which she did on the little hill towards the end, running a 1/2 mary next weekend so I decided to run steadily back to the finish, glad I did, she ended up 3rd overall, I got 4th overall for 18 women, the 40 age group are tough chicks, I would have been 3rd in my age group but 1&2 were 2nd and 3rd overall. The fun part is we all know each other, lots of fun smack talking... What would you do differently?: run faster! Post race
Warm down: walk and stretch What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training and injury. Event comments: This is a local race with no rules, fun! Last updated: 2011-04-01 12:00 AM

Got up drank my coffee, OJ with mila, drove to the event, on my way there was a speed trap, I was in race mode... got pulled over, oops! Nice cop let me go, maybe because I was a nurse (he asked what I did) he knew I was trying to get to the race, we live on a very small island, they knew we would all be heading to the race... I was very appreciative he gave me a verbal warning and didn't make me wait for the written warning.
a little bike and a little run
