Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5AM had bowl of cereal and coffee. Drove to race start. Jogged 4 miles, stopped by car had gel and water. Started race.

Comments:

Very nice run. Had a good tail wind. Ran fast up the few rollers there were and passed a lot of people. Felt great the whole way. Started out at 10 min. miles then sped up as I got closer to the end because I felt so good. Really pushed it the last 1/2 of the race. Walked a little at the 2 gel stations. Had gels at miles 4 and 8 and gummy bears at mile 11.

Warm down:

Crossed finish line, walked around then stretched then had something to eat. They had chicken on a skewer, bananas and oranges. Had some of each.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

4 mile run before race, 80 mile bike on Thurs.

Event comments:

Beautiful course along the river. Lots of things blooming. Very good aid stations and volunteers. Plenty of porta potties at the start and great bus shuttle service. Really fun.
