Swim
Comments: Pool swim TT start. Snake style swim from side of the pool to the other (i.e. change lanes every 25 meters) Very congested at every wall until I was able to pass 10 or so people and find a nice gap to swim hard. Should have easily been under 5 minutes, just too crowded. What would you do differently?: Submit a much faster estimated swim time, since everyone lied about how fast they were, it put me behind too many people that could not swim, and with the limited passing space, made it very congested and wasted an extra 60 seconds or so in the pool due to congestion. Transition 1
Comments: Transition sucked. Ran out from the pool into the 33 degree frosty cold morning soaking wet in my bare feet... hands were so cold, I did a lot of fumbling trying to get my calf wamers, and toe warmer on over my shoes. Put my gloves on while getting the bike up to speed. What would you do differently?: Race on a warmer day. Bike
Comments: Quite cold getting going in 33 degrees with wet clothes on. Put my gloves on while getting the bike up to speed. Otherwise pretty good bike ride. What would you do differently?: Not much. Transition 2
Comments: Still a little cold, and had to get off the toe warmers and shoes both then tie running shoes... What would you do differently?: Should have had running shoes already tied and just slipped them on. Run
Comments: Lot of hills... felt slow, but the time says otherwise. For me 8:09 is pretty fast for the third leg of a triathlon. I got a little warm by the end and had to tie my long sleeve shirt around my waist. What would you do differently?: Run in only my jersey (not wear the long sleeve.) Post race
Warm down: EAT PIZZA!!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Cold weather Event comments: Good race for my first race since last summer. Considering that I have only made 4 outdoor bike rides this year, I felt really good. My run times are improving by leaps and bounds. Last updated: 2011-04-02 12:00 AM

Got up at 6:30 from hotel to drink Hammer Perpetuem, and ate a bagel with peanut butter and jelly.
I swam 2 laps in the 25 meter pool then stretched.
