Comments:

I had dead legs today and knew it really early in the race. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to pull off a negative split. Also in spite of feeling my legs were tired I beat my goal by 15 seconds. Mentally I was really happy with how I pushed through not being complete there physically like I was two weeks ago during the half marathon.

What would you do differently?:

Wear less clothing. Although the temps were slightly on the warm side for this time of year I went with long tights and long sleeve shirt because the winds were gusting to 40 MPH. I should have gone with my instincts and went with the lighter clothing.

Also they had signs on where to start based on your pace and I started halfway between 9 and 10 minutes which was a mistake. I ended up zig-zagging around slower traffic. It added up to .08 miles worth of extra work according to the Garmin.

So the times and distance are off the Garmin.
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed water and some food. Came home and took a hot shower and stretched out my legs while doing so.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Dead legs and too much clothing.

Event comments:

My net time and gun time are listed as the same even though the guy I ran with has a 30 second differential which is what it took us go get across the starting line. 1647 starters is way too many for this event to use gun time as the results and not net time. It wouldn't have mattered for me as I would have lost that 30 seconds but on the other hand thankfully it was at the start and not the end. That would have blown.
