Run
Comments: Obviously the first mile included that first minute or so of walking/shuffling when you cram 6k people on a bridge. After that everything calmed down a bit and I found a girl who was pushing a pretty solid 7:20 - 7:40 pace, so I used her as pace booty for quite a few miles. Finally we hit some of the dreaded "hills" and I had to break out on my own. As I started passing the 9mi sign, I realized I should probably be working a bit harder, as I wasn't exactly panting. I start upping the pace a bit too timidly. I Finally at mile 12 I decide to really push, so my last 5k is a negative split of my first 5k ;) What would you do differently?: Run MORE. I'm still just a poor pedestrian when it comes down to it. Post race
Warm down: Chocolate Milk, water, and that's about it. I walked up another hill (haha) and searched for my family. Found them and it was off to Cracker Barrel for a re-fill ;) What limited your ability to perform faster: Miles in the legs. I need more of them... Event comments: Great race. Well set up and very prompt. It said "starts at 7:30" and the regular start (the handicapped athletes started a bit ahead) was by my watch at 7:31... a rarity in the racing world IMO ;) Last updated: 2011-04-04 12:00 AM

Woke up and did the breakfast thing. Parents came and picked me up, and it was off to the races ;) After getting robbed for $10 to park (the beginning and end were at different spots, so they probably used the parking lot for all of 30 minutes) I made my way into one of the host hotels to stay warm and use the restrooms (as opposed to the port-O's)
Found my way to my starting corral (well... the 8-10min/mi area.) and hopped around to stay warm. Not a ton of action up until the gun sounded.
