Swim
Comments: This was my worst swim in several years. Didn't get tired or panicy, but had no speed and swam like a snake. Maybe ZERO trips to the pool since May could be a contributing factor? What would you do differently?: The obvious fix to this problem is getting back to the pool on a regular basis. This is turning into my major limiter. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition. Decided to go shirtless. What would you do differently?: No issues. Smooth transition. Bike
Comments: Overall I think this is an excellent bike course. Terrain is rolling just enough to break things up. Course is open, but Sunday morning traffic is very light. For the most part, one lane is available for riders and things are not over-crowded. Took one bottle on the bike, which turned out to be about right for a hot race day. What would you do differently?: Happy with this ride. Next year I'd like to shoot fo 23-mph as an average. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition Run
Comments: HOT on the run course. Overall a good run, but lost focus and slowed for a little bit. What would you do differently?: Good run. No major issues. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Still on summer hiatus without much structured training. Overall, I'm happy with this race. Overall time was 40-sec faster than last year, even though last year's swim was considerably faster. Gotta do something about that swim! Event comments: Year after year, this is consistently the best sprint-distance race I've done. Great course, well organized and run. This year's swag included a really nice back-pack, tech shirt, regular tee shirt, light-weight jacket, hat, socks, race medal, and a few food items. Last updated: 2011-04-06 12:00 AM
