Pre-race routine:

We had been camping since Friday so it was not a normal morning. It had been raining all night so I waited till the last minute to bring my stuff up to Transition.
Event warmup:

Swam from the camping spot to the start line on the beach.
Swim
  • 25m 42s
  • 1320 yards
  • 01m 57s / 100 yards
Comments:

This is the longest swim I have ever done without a rest. It was what I expected and know I just need to swim more to get better.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, it was right on with what my ability is.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

No transitions times, added into bike time.
Bike
  • 1h 25m 42s
  • 12.28 miles
  • 8.60 mile/hr
Comments:

I love this course, it is hard and fun all at the same time. Rode it cleanly with all the wet roots, rocks, and slick clay.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, except trade the run for one more lap on the bike course.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

included in run time.
Run
  • 43m 1s
  • 4.92 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Paced myself pretty well, but it was a long race for me compared to the usual sprint distance so I faded on the second run lap. Had to walk the shortest, but steepest hill, on the course the second lap. Need to work on my longer race endurance. The misting rain on the run made for a nice cooling effect.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, it was a great race for the available time I have for training.
Post race
Warm down:

Hit the food table for a banana, lots of water and Gatorade, and one small foamy beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Having a job.

Event comments:

I love off-road racing and Xterra Stoaked is a fantastic time.
