Run
Comments: Patterns are very typical for a 10 mile run for me mile 1 - 9:06 Too fast of a start. Felt good, but can't hold that pace mile 2 - 9:26 trying to slow it down mile 3 - 10:02 Good pace mile 4 - 10:13 Miles 4 and 5 are always the hardest for me. mile 5 - 10:41 mile 6 - 9:56 knees start feeling slight pain, focus on form, but not bad mile 7 - 10:03 Miles 7, 8 and 9 always feel great mile 8 - 9:44 mile 9 - 9:33 mile 10 - 9:18 Last mile hurts. Carried water bottle. Usually have a gel at mile 6, mint at 7, gum at 8 BUT I got hungry so it was all different.-had mint at 2, gel at 4, gum at 6, hungry at 8.5, but didn't have anything else. Turned out fine, but would have like another gel. What would you do differently?: Pretty happy with the race actually. Might try to start a bit slower, but not sure I would be able to. Perhaps push more during mile 5 Post race
Warm down: Walked to get gear bags and food and back to the car. Stretched a bit What limited your ability to perform faster: This was as good as it gets for me right now. Event comments: Excellent. Porta potty lines were fast which is most important. Bus shuttle to start worked well. Parking in old town Alexandria is a bit of a challenge, but worked out fine. Last updated: 2011-04-07 12:00 AM
