Try not be nervous. This was my first ever race.

Transition was long and I was not sure how to handle my body now having to deal with no longer being weightless

Bring towel, running shoes for trek from water to bike

Was not sure what to expect and ended up feeling great. I pushed hard without over doing it and was never winded.

Work my shifting gears more efficiently

Transition was gravel so there was no bare feet happening. I wore my running shoes inside my toe clips so I did not have much down time in transition

Get proper riding gear in relation to shoes

Nursing strained Achilles Heal for 2 mos prior and was not going to spend the rest of the summer laid up. Ran well within myself. Glad there was not time stoppage for the slow but determined.
What would you do differently?:

Try to be injury free so I can really test myself

Warm down:

Enjoyed water, granola, and my children who came to see my finish. We stayed at the lake for the remainder of the day.
