Comments: Carried a water bottle, GU - tangerine at 5 miles Stoped for water at all stops. Left calf very tight for first 3 miles. knees starting feeling questionable around mile 5. Knees hurt around mile 8, but never got so bad I had to stop and stretch or walk.At mile 8 we decided we could make 10 minute miles if we picked up the pace a bit, so we did. Very, very crowded for the entire race, but fun to run 10 miles. I volunteered last year. What would you do differently?: Get to race earlier Post race
Warm down: Stretched at race sight. Ice on knees when I got home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Working on strengthening VMO so knees track correctly. Injured calf, but I am happy with my time. My goal was 10 min/ miles because of race next weekend. I knew I had to be careful since I want to run another 10 mile race next weekend.
