Swim
Comments: I did ok on the swim overall. I didn't really start getting tired until the last 300 meters or so. I some diffculty with the breathing and the navigation. The poor navigation probably cost me a 100 meters or so. What would you do differently?: Swim faster would be the most obvious. I need to work on speed, which is probably a result of my form. Transition 1
Comments: I had a better transition than the last tri, but it still needs some work. What would you do differently?: Make sure I know exactly what I am going to do at during the transition and practice them during brick workouts Bike
Comments: I had a good ride overall. A pretty fast pace for me. I noticed that I would get past on the hills by the same people I would past on the down hill or flats. What would you do differently?: i could use some more work on hills. Losing a few lbs would also help. Transition 2
Comments: Again, better time than my last tri. It needs to be faster though. I got some cramps again while attempting to put on my shoes. I think I am starting my nutrition too late or I need to work on building my lactate threshold. Probably a little bit of both. I don't ride that fast typically. I seem to have this need to just pass everybody I can. Works out for my time, but not the cramps. What would you do differently?: Not have cramps...... Run
Comments: I was ok, and I say that hesitantly, the first three miles. Somewhere in the third mile I just plain ran out of gas and was feeling extremely hot. It was not a good situation to be in. I ended up walking...running...walking.. .running. Yep....It sucked! I was pretty disgusted with myself. In addition, i intentionlly did not bring anything on the run, because I thought they would have gatorade. Big mistake. No assumptions for next time. I aslo didn't expect it to be so hot or the heat to affect me like that. I should have ran 8 min. miles. What would you do differently?: Hydrate plenty before I hit the run. Post race
Event comments: A lot of lines to wait in. Had to wait to register...wait to get food and drinks at the end, which I didn't get. Instead I waited to get into the transition area as they let one to two people in at a time to get to my drinks and food. There was no real direction for parking. Last updated: 2006-03-31 12:00 AM
