Swim
Comments: Goal time was 6:15 so I was pretty happy with my time as it was a huge improvement over last year. Felt really good upon exiting pool What would you do differently?: I could have pushed myself a little harder in the middle of the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Oh yeah...that's where I put my goggles...in my bike shoes...oh well. What would you do differently?: Need to learn how to put my shoes in my pedals and jump on my bike so I don't have to worry about putting them on in transition. Bike
Comments: Felt pretty good on the bike. 1/2 way through 1st loop I realized I had not turned on my bike computer...dang it! Need to work on hills more, but overall happy given the amount of riding I haven't done lately. What would you do differently?: More hill repeats. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Again, need to learn how to take feet out of shoes on the bike so I don't have to mess with them in transition. Run
Comments: Wind was a booger coming back. Bothered me more here than on the bike! About a 2 minute improvement over last year, so I'll take it, but was shooting for better than that. What would you do differently?: I did a mini-brick Saturday morning. First time I did that. Wondering if it affected my run as I think it could have been better. Legs felt ok, just couldn't push as hard as normal. Post race
Warm down: Drank a muscle milk and walked around a little. What limited your ability to perform faster: Maybe doing the brick on Saturday, even thought it was a light one, it was the first time I've done that. Not sure if it helped, hurt or had no effect. Also, did a 1/2 marathon a couple of weeks ago and only got in two other runs between then and yesterday. Definitely need to spend some more time running. Event comments: I love this race! It's a good one to kick off my season. Last updated: 2011-04-10 12:00 AM

Woke up around 4 and ate 2 egg whites and a mini bagel with jelly. Drank some water. Went back to bed until 5:30. Got dressed, woke my daughter and headed out the door at 6:00. Had to park down the street. Only had about 5 minutes to rack my back and prepare my transition area before transition closed. I had to make my own spot on the rack and did so by moving the first back completely to the end so I could squeeze in between it and the 2nd one on the rack. Arriving later than normal worked out well for me! But, couldn't find my goggles. Fortunately, I had a spare pair in the pocket of my bag.
None.
