Run
Comments: I did well with being more aggressive this time. I tried not to get into any slow Conga lines. I walked most of the longer or steeper uphills, which I think was a good thing. My legs might have cramped up if I had tried to run all the hills. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I ran a good race. Next year it will be easier because I will know the course, but I will run it with just about the same strategy and effort level. Post race
Warm down: Went in the lake up to knees. Should have gone all the way. My lower legs feel great today but my upper legs are sore. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need more work on uphills. Event comments: This is a very fun trail race. I wish there weren't quite as many people. The first few miles were pretty congested. The course is really beautiful and my favorite kind of trails. On a warmer day it would be more fun at the start/finish because the park is great. The aid stations were a little spaced out, but this is typical for trail races where accessibility is a factor. It is just advisable to bring a bottle. Last updated: 2011-04-10 12:00 AM
