Swim
Comments: Swim felt much better than day before. Only my second race so it's still a little strange with all the contact. Most were very courteous and it wasn't to bad. My endurance is terrible. What would you do differently?: Need to train for more endurance. Need to train harder. Transition 1
Comments: Need to streamline transition. Second tri and started to see a lot of things a need to do. What would you do differently?: Wear biking shirt during swim or go without. Quit worring so much about my watch. They have a huge clock at the end to let me know how long it took. Next race is June 19th and the temp will be to high for wetsuits so that will help cut down on trans time. Bike
Comments: Picked up 1 mph from the day before. Felt good on the bike. Only got passed a few times. Still have a lot to learn but starting to fell much more confident in my biking. What would you do differently?: Goingto try some aero bars and see if that will help. Transition 2
Comments: Cut 20 seconds off from day before. Once again I just need to streamline everything in transition. What would you do differently?: Practice, practice, practice Run
Comments: One of the worst runs since I started training. Had to stop and walk several times. Once I stopped the first time it became as much mental as anything else I believe. What would you do differently?: Need to do lots of endurance training and just push myself harder. Post race
Warm down: Water right after the race and into the pond to cool off. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need to work on my endurance. Event comments: Only my second race in as many days. Looking foward to the second race of this series on June 19th. Now that I have some base numbers, I can set some numbers for goals by the the last race of the series on Aug 14th. Next race is on father's day and I'm looking foward to having my whole family with me. Although my numbers were only about 2 minutes better than the day before, I felt much better than the day before except for maybe the run. But I'll get better and contiue to work hard. Woke up about 4:30 and got a shower. Had everything packed up and ready to go the night before. MY wife and oldest daughter loaded the car a got on the road about 5 AM. Arrived at the race site about 6 AM. Got marked and my transition area set up. After I was set up, I spent some time with my wife and 8 year old daughter. My daughter had lots of questions but I didn't have a lot of answers because I had just done my first race the day before.
Some stretching and just a few minutes in the water.
