Run
Comments: Race start was delayed 30 minutes due to lightning. Started off just like I had planned a nice slow warmup pace. About the third mile into the race I started picking up my pace. I felt good as the miles kept ticking off and the miles just seemed to be going by so quick. I got to about mile 8 and felt that maybe I still had a lot in the tank, i just needed my rabbit. I got a rabbit at the 9 mile mark. An older gentleman that I could tell was starting to really pick up his end of race pace. I stayed wit him the entire rest of the race and we had a little fun sprint in the last 300 meters or so. All in all I loved this race. It was my first OKC Memorial race and I will definitely be back. I met my goal for my Spring Half Marathon season by setting my PR below 2 hours. Now I have something to strive for in the fall season. Post race
Event comments: Great organized race and hey it's a race to remember. A race to remember those that were lost in the Oklahoma City bombing. They announced that they were at 25 thousand racers between the Full/Half/Relay/5k. So yeah was a nice big group of racers and given it rained the entire day, the support out on the course was awesome. I highly recommend! Last updated: 2011-04-13 12:00 AM
