Swim
  • 22m 9s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 20s / 100 yards
Comments:

mabye a bit too easy? not bad.
What would you do differently?:

be a bit more aggressive during the middle portion of the swim.
Transition 1
  • 03m 1s
Comments:

fricken zipper stuck on the wetsuit. i could not for the life of me get the zipper undone. ran all the way to my bike still fiddling with the zipper. and then stood there for another 2 minutes. i think the zipper got some neoprene stuck in it.
What would you do differently?:

make sure to zip my own zipper. try the zipper prior to starting the swim. more body glide on the feet.
Bike
  • 1h 10m 51s
  • 25.8 miles
  • 21.85 mile/hr
Comments:

What would you do differently?:

hit it a bit harder.
Transition 2

What would you do differently?:

more practice
Run

  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

hot(to me). could not really get the heart rate up. had some negative thoughts, but overall not too bad.
What would you do differently?:

more running training.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

there has been zero speedwork in my workouts. but im not focusing on oly's this summer. overall this truly was just another training workout for me. 4 hours on the bike the day prior to the race really took the "pop" out of my legs. it is a great waypoint on the way to my ironman, however i feel that i could end up being fairly competitive in oly distance races if i focused on it. I really feel that i could have put in a 2:10-2:15 time in if i had spent a bit more time on speedwork. Next year!

Event comments:

good food. could have used a bit more transition space. i noticed that the organizers ended up putting up some more halfway though the transition open time in the morning.
