Run
Comments: With over 33,000 people running in this race just actually running instead of walking at the start is almost impossible due to bodies being everywhere. After about the first 1/4 mile we got spread out enough to actually run. The first 2 miles was relatively easy and then we hit the 5 percent grade of the Cooper River Bridge. I had to walk at this point and even walking my calves were buring and I thought I might actually get a cramp at one point. When I reached the crest of the bridge I starting running again and ran on and off to the finish. One funning thing about the race, one section goes through a questionable part of town and every homeless person of the street was hollering and cheering on the runners. What would you do differently?: Get in more training before race. Post race
Warm down: Still had to walk another mile or so after the finish just to get to the car. Event comments: No better way to see the beautiful city of Charleston, SC than this. Last updated: 2006-04-01 12:00 AM
