Comments: Slower than I was hoping. My plan was 27 minutes. Not sure why I was slow, it didn't feel that slow when I was running. Transition 1
Comments: took off jacket as I got warm during the run. figured i'd be too hot if I wore it during the bike. mistake: leaving my gu in the jacket pocket meant no nutrition on the bike. What would you do differently?: hang on to my gu! Bike
Comments: happy with my bike time, i was on plan here. not happy with the trashing of my legs that made the 2nd run hard for me. What would you do differently?: need more bike fitness so that my legs aren't as tired coming off the bike. Transition 2
Comments: remembered to grab gu from jecket pocket, but had to wait until 1st water stop to eat it. Run
Comments: very low energy until i could eat the gu i missed during the bike. this slowed my first mile. picked up speed during the second mile. picked up more speed in the last mile as i realized my goal of under 2 hours was in jeopardy. not enough though, i ended up just over my goal time. What would you do differently?: it's very early in the season, i just need more practice running off the bike to get the feel back again. Post race
Event comments: great race, very organized as usual for GMS. Nice food spread afterwards. pizzas always good, even at 10:30 in the morning! happy with 9th in my age group considering the talent that was there was pretty impressive. Last updated: 2011-04-21 12:00 AM
