Pre-race routine:

Rise at 4am; Toasted bagel thin with peanut butter, banana, sipped Vitamin water; energy gel 30 minutes prior to start--would've been 15 but race started late
Event warmup:

Shoulder & leg stretching, light jogs on beach, 100-200 yds free in lake; ended up standing around for 20 minutes waiting for late, wave starts

More spin preparation during the weeks building up to race; core fuel added to water bottle

didn't feel like I had the necessary gas in the tank

Event comments:

Excellent volunteer volume in lake swim; bike course very safe; Instead of 1 drink station near turn-around, put one at each mile marker and have more volunteers available to pass-out drinks
