Total Time = 1h 33m 17s
Overall Rank = 82/210
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 12/25
Pre-race routine:

Had half a bagel, half a banana, and a couple strawberries at Brad and Joyce's. We were a little late getting to the pool, but not bad. Helped Leah get ready, cheered for Leah, then cheered for Becki. Wandered around and took pictures. Had another 1/4 bagel and some oranges at 11:15. Took an excedrin at 11:20, and used my inhaler.
Event warmup:

Ran up and down the stairs in the pool area a few times.
Swim
  • 16m 37s
  • 1000 yards
  • 01m 40s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swimmers in my lane blew me away, but I still had my best 1000 time ever!
What would you do differently?:

Flip more turns. It is hard to get used this pool; they have not marking on the end wall, so I usually digress to wall turns right away.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

I took my time and made sure all my actions were deliberate.
What would you do differently?:

make sure I have a smaller towel to dry my arms and legs with. My shirt and jacket got stuck a bit.
Bike
  • 39m 36s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 18.83 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Sometimes I caught myself daydreaming on the bike, so I could have pedaled harder.
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
What would you do differently?:

Got my toes stuck in my socks. I'll pay better attention when putting them on next time.
Run
  • 33m 34s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 47s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

I really enjoyed the run, and I chose to walk the hill way before the race, so I'm okay with having walked that. For the rest of the run, I certainly could have run the whole thing instead of walking any part of it, but I don't regret it too badly.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and waited to cheer for Jim and Louise.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably my weight.

Event comments:

This is the most fun I've ever had in a race! I slept well all week, and I was hardly nervous at all.

I usually do this race as a team, but my buddies couldn't make it, so I went solo. I thought I was not in good enough running condition to do a really good job, but I was surprised. Now I am insprired to lose weight and work more on my run.
