Run
Comments: I ran with my brother who has never run 7 miles before. As a matter of fact, I don't think he's run 5. The Air Force requires him to run a mile and a half once a week, so that's what he does. On a track. He did bump up his mileage to get ready for this race, so I do give him credit for that, and for finishing. The start was packed. We went out too fast, dodging and weaving around people and I knew it would be trouble for him later. The first 3 miles are hilly but it flattens out after that. By the start of the 4th mile bro was toast. I'll give him credit for hanging in there tho. A few times I got too far ahead and pulled up on the side to find him again. One time he told me to take off with a friend that I had found along the way but I really wanted to stay with him and make sure he finished and was ok. Sometimes ya just gotta do that. We saw our parents and his wife and kids as we neared the finish line. Very cool. I hope they got some good pictures. What would you do differently?: Nuttin'. Post race
Warm down: walk thru finish area and over to the park. What limited your ability to perform faster: My brother LOL But it's all good! Event comments: Looking forward to doing this one again. I don't know if my brother feels the same way LOL Last updated: 2006-04-03 12:00 AM
