Run
Comments: I set a new PR for a 5K. My goal was to break 30 minutes and ideally get back to my pre-broken knee 5K time. I somehow ended up starting near the front. I hit the first mile at 8:50. At the turn around a former co-worker caught up to me. We ran together for a little bit (we ran together for a while too the first time I did this race and last year he was quite a bit ahead of me) and then I took off. I hit the 2 mile mark at 17-something. The last mile was the hardest. I felt a little nauseous during the last mile but realized that it was because I was pushing myself. I finished strong and was very happy to see the final time. What would you do differently?: Overall, nothing. I could have pushed a little harder at the end to beat a few more people. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the race site. Talked with current and former co-workers. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, except for building a better base. Event comments: A great race overall! Last updated: 2006-04-03 12:00 AM

I had a clif bar and then drove to pick up my friend Josh. When I called him he said that he was planning on driving because his wife and baby were coming to watch. We tried to fit the stroller in my trunk but because of the bike rack it didn't fit. I took the car home (a block) and then jogged back to his house.
1 block job from my parking lot to Josh's house and then walking from the Lloyd's Hall to the start of the race.
