Swim
Comments: My fastest 500 ever. I felt I could have done better though for sure. I lost track of what lap I was on about half way through and paused for a second. I felt like I had some energy left at the end. What would you do differently?: Push harder all the way through, learn flip turns better, and get my counter to place a laminated card with my lap number in the water. Transition 1
Comments: It was fast, not sure what more I could have done. What would you do differently?: Nothing I can think of right now. Bike
Comments: Passed a lot of people in the first mile but couldn't hold on to the guy up ahead of me and lost a little ground on him going in to the run. What would you do differently?: Push it hard on the downhill back in. I killed it on the way out, maybe a little to hard and then slacked off a little on the way back in Transition 2
Comments: I rode with my flat kit in my back pocket of my tri jersey. Took a few seconds to rip that out and start going. What would you do differently?: For my first transition of the year I thought I did pretty good. It was good to just get a feel for it again. Definitely need to work a little bit more on my dismounts. I would like to get it down so I dismount without shoes on. Run
Comments: Crushed it on the run! I wish I had just a little bit more left to overtake the 3rd place guy in the end. But I was super pumped with my effort and don't think I could have done much more. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank some water and gatorade, ate some cookies, changed out of tri clothes and waited around for awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: More training, and more speed focus. I have been doing a lot of longer slower bike stuff especially so it would definitely help to get some more intensity work on the bike Event comments: Great race, good director, fun location, and great volunteers. Had a great time and will likely race this early season race again in the future. Last updated: 2011-04-27 12:00 AM

Drove the course the night before. Was in bed by 10pm, and up at 7:30 for the 10am start time. Ate a light breakfast of cereal, toast, and a cinnamon roll. Headed out to the race site
Showed up about an hour early did a light jog and some dynamic stretching. Took in some light fluids and got ready to go.
