Event warmup:

Swam a lap.
Swim
  • 11m
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 12s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was my best swim in a tri yet. Felt calm for all but a bit of the 8th lap. Passed all 3 folks in my lane. Slow, but steady crawl. Very nice!
What would you do differently?:

Seed myself a bit faster.
Transition 1
  • 04m 27s
Comments:

Was fairly cold out, tried to put pants on . . . too hard, gave up. Tried to put full finger gloves on . . . too hard, gave up. Did pull a long-sleeve cycling jersey and ultralight windbreaker and was just fine without the pants and gloves.

Stuff in transition was SOAKED, a big storm came by when I was inside.
What would you do differently?:

Cover gear better, know what I was going to wear.
Bike
  • 51m 37s
  • 12 miles
  • 13.95 mile/hr
Comments:

Fun bike course, but it really started pouring during the ride, with the downhills and sharp turns I was cautious. Tough crosswind near the end. The first time I did this course I walked up ALL 3 of the big hills. I was only passed by one person on the course and I passed 3 or 4.
What would you do differently?:

Hope for drier weather for on-course and pre-race training.
Transition 2
  • 02m 55s
Comments:

Average transition. Took jersey off, left windbreaker on, pulled hat on.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 38m 35s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 12m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

I'm sooooooo slow! I had to use my old running shoes because I left my newer ones at work, but they are the same and I doubt that was a factor.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps I just need to push harder . . . and run more of course.
Post race
Warm down:

Got some food, drove home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of any sort of natural running ability?

Event comments:

This is a great small, community race. One of my favorites. I will be there next year!
